1897年創立の日本機械学会が発行する月刊会報誌の表紙デザインです。1年を通した共通の表現手法を設定することで、会報誌の枠を超え、日本機械学会自体のブランディングにつながる表紙を目指しました。
2025年版では、古い科学雑誌の紙焼けや経年変化を生かして作品を制作するコラージュ作家「余地｜yoti」とコラボレーション。「モーションキャプチャ」「非破壊検査」など、毎号の特集から着想した作品をつくりおろしました。かつて科学を伝えていた紙面を切り取り、組み替え、現在の科学を伝える表紙へと生まれ変わらせています。

This is the cover design for the monthly journal of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), founded in 1897. We developed a common visual approach across the year, creating a consistent identity for JSME beyond the journal itself.
For 2025, we collaborated with collage artist Yoti, who works with aged paper from old science magazines, embracing its fading colors and traces of time. Each cover is inspired by the issue’s feature, such as motion capture or nondestructive testing. Pages that once communicated science are cut apart and recomposed to communicate the science of today.
